Academic publishing is a requirement for almost all academic position-holders if the contract/agreement has clear terms and conditions of employment where research outputs are regarded as an essential performance index. Therefore, professional development and career advancement in tertiary education are closely linked to research publications. However, many young scholars, including postgraduate students, are not sure which journals they should look for possible publication of their research. More significantly, they are not familiar with manuscript submission procedures, editorial decision-making processes and the technicalities of completing the submission and revision for final publishing, not to mention that they do not know how to respond to reviewer recommendations and editor decisions. 专家介绍:

张军(ZHANG Jun Lawrence),新西兰奥克兰大学教授、博士生导师。2014年获颁奥克兰大学优秀博士生导师奖,2016年当选世界英语教师协会(TESOL)全球领军学者之一,现任中国英语写作教学与研究专业委员会副会长、中国学术英语教学研究会常务理事,兼任“山西百人”专家,曾任吉林省“长白山学者”讲座教授(吉林大学)、湖北省“楚天学者”讲座教授(华中科技大学)。自2016年起任Elsevier出版社SSCI一区语言学类国际期刊System的联合主编,2022及2023连续两年入选斯坦福大学全球学术影响力前2%语言学/语言教育类研究学者名录,另担任多家顶级学术期刊编委及论文评阅人,以及多家国际知名出版社书稿审阅人。此外,张军教授发表论文、书评、章节近200篇,其中在SSCI期刊论文170余篇,荣获美国TESOL国际学会2011年度“最佳科研论文奖”(唯一获奖者),主持两项重大科研项目,并担任加拿大、荷兰、新加坡及香港等地的多项国家级研究基金特邀评审。

Lawrence Jun Zhang, PhD, a past Post-doctoral Fellow at the Department of Education, Oxford University, is now Professor of Language Education/TESOL and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Education and Social Work, University of Auckland, New Zealand. His major interests are in learner metacognition, the psychology of language learning and teaching, and teacher education, with particular reference to EFL reading/writing and ESP/EAP. He has published extensively along these lines in leading international journals, includingApplied Linguistics,Modern Language Journal,SSLA, TESOL Quarterly,among others.He was the sole recipient of the “Distinguished Research in TESOL Award” in 2011 for his article,“A dynamic metacognitive systems perspective on Chinese university EFL readers”, published inTESOL Quarterly,44(2).He is currently Co-Editor-in-Chief ofSystem, serving on the editorial boards of seven international journals. In 2016 he was honoured with the recognition by the TESOL International Association (USA) with the awardof “50@50”, which acknowledged “50 Outstanding Leaders” around the globe in the profession of TESOL at TESOL’s 50thanniversary celebration in Baltimore, Maryland. In November 2016, he was successfully elected to the International TESOL Association’s Board of Directors. In the Stanford University Rankings 2022 and 2023, he was listed in the top 2% of Scientists in the World in the disciplinary areas of Linguistics/Applied Linguistics.https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1025-1746
